Initiative Helps Parents Accused of Child Abuse

Here's a brief clip from a story featured on ABC's Channel 5 News in Minnesota about the Child Protection Clinic started at William Mitchell College of Law.  Featured in the story is Larene Broome, a parent with direct experience dealing with the child welfare system in Minnesota.  At the clinic, Larene now works with other parents suspected of abusing or neglecting their children, or otherwise identified as needing support.  Larene's example, and that of former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Helen Meyer (who contributed $1 million to the clinic), is noteworthy in a world that likes to demonize some parents as "bad" and "unfit".  We're all a work in progress.  Our challenge is to find more and more effective strategies for supporting parents.  Here's a great example of one of those strategies that appears to be working.   Visit the William Mitchell College of Law Child Protection Clinic for more information.  View the full story at KSTP news as well.
